Luohu accelerates development of Renminnan as am international consumer hub

Luohu is rapidly advancing the transformation of Renminnan into a vibrant, integrated consumption hub that bridges Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Recent upgrades have introduced wider pedestrian pathways, improved street order, and a more refined, high-quality urban atmosphere.
As one of the five key consumer zone projects spearheaded by the Luohu District Government, the revitalization of Renminnan aims to establish an international commercial, cultural and tourism-focused street district that is both consumer-friendly and globally appealing.
Spanning 38.7 hectares, the project adopts a comprehensive strategy to reassess and enhance the public space environment. This includes integrated planning, systematic categorization, and multi-dimensional utilization of space to create a district that is fully walkable and engaging throughout.
A key objective of the renovation is the creation of a comfortable slow-traffic zone, supporting Luohu’s broader strategy to cultivate distinctive commercial areas. As part of this effort, approximately 201 street poles and 66 municipal utility boxes will be removed. In their place, intelligent poles will be installed throughout the area, helping to declutter the streetscape while laying the groundwork for future 5G smart city integration.
