Shenzhen launches 10th Wutong Mountain Azalea Festival and low-altitude flower tours

The 10th Wutong Mountain Azalea Festival and the launch of low-altitude flower tours kicked off on Tuesday at Wutong Pavilion in Luohu District, Shenzhen. The event marks the official opening of this new cultural and tourism landmark at 694 meters above sea level.
As part of the festival, Luohu District introduced 20 low-altitude sightseeing routes and limited-time flight experiences starting at just 99 yuan, offering visitors unique aerial views of the blooming azaleas. The first group of passengers took off from the rooftop helipad of Yuehai Land Tower and reached Wutong Pavilion’s urban air mobility (UAM) hub in under five minutes.
Nestled in Shenzhen's only national scenic area, Wutong Pavilion offers panoramic views of lush forests, Hong Kong’s peaks, the city skyline, and Yantian Port's shimmering lights. The 360-degree observation deck captures the beauty of the Greater Bay Area's "mountain-sea-city" landscape.
In a major step toward developing the low-altitude economy, Wutong Pavilion is equipped with Shenzhen's highest-altitude UAM hub, capable of handling helicopters and eVTOL aircraft. According to Lin Baishuo, chairman of Shenzhen Luohu Urban Development Co., the pavilion is designed as both an emergency response platform and an eco-tourism destination, offering scenic views, dining, and cultural experiences.
The festival, themed "Azaleas in Full Bloom, A Harmony of Mountains and Sea," runs until March 30. Visitors can enjoy guided flower tours, a mountain music concert, an azalea art exhibition, a scientific showcase on Rhododendron moulmainense, and immersive low-altitude sightseeing experiences.
