The first phase of the Shenzhen Reservoir Greenway, stretching 6.07 kilometers, has quickly become a favorite destination for both residents and tourists, attracting over 100,000 visitors within just one month of its opening. With its scenic mountain and lake views, the greenway offers a peaceful retreat from the bustling city, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and outdoor activities.
Mr. Li, who visited the greenway with his family for a hike, praised the new trail: “The well-developed facilities along the route make walking here very comfortable.” He added that after a long workweek, this is a great place for people to unwind and enjoy nature.
As part of a broader urban development initiative, Luohu district is actively developing a high-quality 30-kilometer greenway loop around the Shenzhen Reservoir. The project already includes completed sections such as Wutong Greenway, Taojinshan Greenway, Cuihu Sports and Cultural Park, the first phase of the Shenzhen Reservoir Greenway, and the Donghu Park Trail – Liantang Port Line. Plans are also underway for the second and third phases of the Shenzhen Reservoir Greenway, which will further enhance outdoor recreation opportunities and expand green urban spaces in the future.
