Luohu launches garbage sorting campaign to promote green living
To commemorate the fourth anniversary of the implementation of the Shenzhen Municipal Regulations on Household Waste Classification and to further promote environmental awareness among residents, a themed event was held at the C exit square of Nigang Metro Station.
As part of Qingshuihe Street's series of public welfare initiatives, this event aimed to raise awareness about garbage classification through a variety of engaging activities, fostering a green, low-carbon, and environmentally friendly lifestyle.
Outstanding instructors delivered lively presentations, using real-life examples to explain the importance of environmental protection and garbage classification. Interactive Q&A sessions encouraged residents to test their knowledge.
The Luohu District Dandelion Young Pioneers also participated, providing clear and concise explanations of the Shenzhen Municipal Guidelines for Household Waste Classification and guiding residents through interactive environmental activities.
The event featured four engaging segments: an environmental classroom, a quiz, handmade crafts, and games, allowing residents to learn about garbage classification in a fun and interactive way.
The handmade crafts segment was particularly popular, with residents expressing their understanding and aspirations for a green lifestyle through drawings on eco-friendly bags. Paper cutting DIY activities also encouraged both adults and children to create beautiful works of art from recycled materials.
Games like the garbage classification spinning wheel and ring toss provided a playful way for residents to test their classification skills. Participants from Nigang Community expressed that these interactive elements made learning about garbage classification more enjoyable and memorable.
Luohu District will continue to intensify efforts to promote garbage classification by innovating outreach methods and striving to achieve new heights in waste management. The goal is to contribute to building a beautiful and livable Shenzhen and Luohu.
