Shenzhen-Hong Kong Integrated Commercial Street sees consumption boom
The Shenzhen-Hong Kong Integrated Commercial Street has provided a vibrant and diverse shopping experience for residents of both cities since its opening on Aug. 25. From a wide array of retail products to delicious and aromatic cuisine, as well as convenient services, this commercial hub provides a high-quality, multifaceted consumer space designed for travelers from Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
Located on the B1 level of the Luohu transportation hub, the street seamlessly connects the Luohu Port, Shenzhen Railway Station, and Luohu Station on Shenzhen Metro Line 1. Its proximity to Renmin South Station on Line 9 makes it a golden corridor linking Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
Thanks to its prime location, the street attracts significant foot traffic from nearby border checkpoints, bus terminals, and metro stations, with an average of 160,000 visitors per day since opening, rising to over 200,000 on weekends and holidays.
One of the biggest draws for visitors is the wide variety of food offerings. A representative from Shenzhen Metro Commerce stated that the street will continue to leverage its advantageous location, further enhancing its commercial layout and unlocking new growth drivers in urban consumption.
Currently, the street operates from 9:30 AM to 11:30 PM, in line with the closing hours of the Luohu Port, ensuring convenience for travelers.
According to the Luohu District Commerce Bureau, the area's commercial activities are primarily concentrated in four key zones: the Luohu Port Joint Inspection and Transport Buildings, Luohu Commercial City, the Skywalk Belt Corridor, and the commercial street on the B1 level of Shenzhen Station. Notably, the former 5,000-square-meter waiting hall at the Luohu Bus Terminal has been transformed into a bustling food court, offering a rich dining experience for consumers.
With the Mid-Autumn Festival approaching, the Luohu District is seeing a surge in commercial activity. The festival, symbolizing reunion, is also a significant driver of consumer spending. The festive shopping frenzy highlights not only the district’s commercial vitality but also the immense potential of Shenzhen-Hong Kong cooperation.
