On March 27, Shenzhen officially launched its first community-level pharmacy service standard—the "Community Pharmacy Care Specification" (DB4403/T553-2024)—at Luohu People's Hospital. This milestone marks a major step toward the standardization and professionalization of grassroots pharmaceutical services in the city.
Designed with public health needs at its core, the new standard incorporates an innovative "PPSSFF" code management system, establishing a structured and comprehensive community pharmacy service model. It outlines seven key pharmacy service processes and an evaluation mechanism.
The standard primarily targets primary healthcare institutions, nursing homes, home-care patients and pharmacy outpatient services. It places a particular emphasis on chronic disease management and high-risk patients requiring multiple medications, ensuring safer and more effective pharmaceutical care.
